I am a data analyst and economist. I work as a research associate professor at the Survey Research Center of the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan. My home is the Health and Retirement Study.

I do empirical research using individual and household data to investigate a wide range of questions, including health, education, demography, and labor. My new research focuses on cognitive aging, investigating the role of life-course causes on cognitive decline in old age. Some of my past research studied the disadvantages of and prejudice against the Roma minority in Eastern Europe.

I teach data analysis and econometrics.

My textbook on data analysis with Gabor Bekes, with Cambridge University Press, is now published. It's title is Data Analysis for Business, Economics and Policy; we call it the Gabors' data analysis book. Here is our own website and here is the publisher's website.
